Museum Quality Lava Cameo depicting The Allegory of the Hope. The frame is enhanced by blue enamel, in perfect intact conditions. Cameo is engraved on the back, there is written in Italian "La Speranza" it means
"The Hope" then the other script is written in French and it says
"Perotti Graveur de lave Rue S. Lucia, 88 Naples" and means Perotti (the name of the carver) lava carving, S. Lucia Street, 88 Naples. I think it is from circa
1870, in perfect conditions, the frame is 18 k gold tested. Very desiderable collectors pieces.
